University of Ottawa Scholarships for Excellence

A scholarship opportunity has been created by the University of Ottawa for international students who are citizens of African countries and who are admitted to the university in the fall 2022 term or later with an admission average of 90 percent or higher, who are studying in English, and who enroll in one of the specified undergraduate programs in the faculties of Engineering, Science, and Social Sciences. Because of this big financial help, their tuition costs are cut by $17,500 to $25,000, depending on the program they’re taking.

The University of Ottawa is a bilingual public research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The University of Ottawa (also known as the U of O) is a multi-campus institution that serves both English and French speakers. It takes up about 42.5 hectares (105 acres) of land, which is in the heart of Ottawa’s Downtown Core, next to the residential neighborhood of Sandy Hill, and next to the Rideau Canal.

When Joseph-Bruno Guigues, the first bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Ottawa, decided to establish the College of Bytown in 1848, he was the first to

call it the University of Ottawa. It was renamed the College of Ottawa in 1861 after being placed under the direction of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, and it was granted university status five years later by royal charter. The university was elevated to the status of a pontifical university on February 5, 1889, when Pope Leo XIII granted it a pontifical charter. The university was reorganized as a corporation on July 1, 1965, and became completely independent of any outside body or religious organization for the first time. As a result, the newly established Saint Paul University, which was federated with the university, was able to retain its civil and pontifical charters. The reorganized university decided to keep the civil faculties that were still in place.
